Crowned "the jewel of the Canadian Rockies," Lake Louise is home to the luxurious Chateau Lake Louise. The magic of the lake, first revealed to outfitter Tom Wilson by Indian guides in 1882, has inspired a century of painters, poets and photographers. Along the Trail of the Great Bear, travelers discover the log structures of "Outlook" cabin at Jasper Park Lodge, gourmet Swiss fondues at the Chateau Lake Louise, the windswept bell tower of the prohibition-era Prince of Wales Hotel and finally the remote Shangri-Las of Twin Falls Chalet and Lake O'Hara Lodge.
