Dan Cruickshank llega a las nubes, volando en globo sobre Turquía antes de explorar las cuevas subterráneas en Goreme. Después de este extraño encuentro, viaja a Estambul, donde visita a Agia Sofía y se come un entremés de cerebros de cordero. Los compara con testículos, los cuales había previamente comido. El nos asegura que los cerebros saben mejor, “aunque los testículos son muy buenos”. Lo siguiente es Rusia, donde Dan queda muy impresionado con el Metro de Moscú, el monasterio de Solovki y la cabaña de Pedro el Grande en la ciudad anterior especialmente construida para el Zar, San Peterburgo. Hay un pequeño viaje a las minas de sal de Polonia, antes de viajar a Alemania donde se interesa en un Volkswagen Beetle en Berlín y una silla de casa de campo, en Dessau.
